The Organic Architecture of Javier Senosiain
Bringing my Wednesday post over from 2Modern:
The Nautilus, designed by Javier Senosiain, was modeled from a shell and resembles, to me anyways, an ultra modern hobbit home you'd see in Lord of the Rings. Not only is the home lovely to look at with it's curvacious design, bountiful interior plantlife and garden paths, but it's built to last. Designed to withstand an earthquake, the structure consists of steel frames and thick concrete. Click here to see a video of the home.

Rooms Inspired by India
I'm posting rooms inspired by India today, a style I love next to mid century. These rooms include lots of florals, colorful textiles with a color palette consisting of mostly, purples, greens, reds and oranges, glowing candles, and of course, buddhas. Try mixing these elements in with ornate dark or black furnishings, or warm tones woods. Ornate chandeliers add in a bit of glam and victorian furniture upholstered with bright fabrics always makes a room pop.

Nature Inspired Dishware
No, these aren't paint cans lodged inside hollow tree trunks (that's what I thought they were at first) They're actually super cute nature inspired bowls from Loyal Loot. They're made of actual reclaimed logs that are hollowed out and handpainted with a high gloss finish. Each bowl is irregularly shaped, giving each one it's own character, and come in lots of fun, bright colors.

Wooden Flashdrives
This is for the computer geeks/nature lovers. I came across these cool wooden USB flashdrives from Flashbay today. Shown here are the Nature and the Bamboo series. You can customize them with your company logo, and they come in lots of other choices as well.

Wood Walls
Wood walls aren't just for the 70's anymore. Along with a few modern pieces, it's a stylish spin on the old wood paneling.
My Etsy Favorites: Matte Art
I'm loving the work of Matte Stephens over at Etsy. His prints are vintage, abstract, and I love the color schemes: Lots of olives, blues, yellows and shades of orange.
