As some of you may (or may not) have noticed, I've been gone for quite a while. And in that time, I've started a Graphic and Web Design service as well as a Photography business, and I have to say, I never knew how much joy I would actually get out of editing and taking photos. I never had any sort of training (student loans are out of control, so there's no way I was going to go back without paying that off first) I did however read a lot (and I mean a LOT) of articles on settings, researched cameras and lenses, editing processes, and did a whole lot MORE reading. And this is the fruits of my labor: The gorgeous Johnny and his amazingly loving Mama Kendra. She is my number one client and I'm so grateful to her for allowing me to photograph the two of them without seeing any of my previous work. Isn't he beautiful?

PIN OF THE DAY: CUTE LITTLE DIY TENT
Found this cute DIY tent by Laura from Twirl today while searching for DIY tent ideas. Love how simple it looks to make, plus the fact that it folds up. And not to mention all that cute fabric!

TO ALL THE MEN IN OUR LIVES..
I'd like to say Happy Father's Day to each and every Dad who makes time for their children, and makes it a point to be a part of their children's lives. Nothing speaks true character more than a selfless man who loves and takes care of his children. And to the "Mom-Dads" as well for doing their best to fill both roles by teaching their their children to be tough, how to play catch, how to use tools, and teach our boys things about their bodies we know nothing about! And let's not forget the Step-Dad: the man who is selfless, kind and loving enough to fill the role of another man's shoes and love another child as their own. You don't have to, but you do, and we appreciate it a lot more than you know.
And here's to the only Dad I've ever known, my Grandfather: The most kind, patient, sweet man I've ever known. I love you Papaw, and miss the days when we use to color together, when you'd let me sit on your lap and drive the tractor, and teaching me how to garden. I will always miss those warm, sunny days in the backyard of the home which you created by hand, with not a care in the world but to listen to the sounds of birds and locusts chirping under the canopy of trees that filled my little childhood universe. Thank you for providing me with a stable, magical place to grow, instilling in me your values, and loving me unconditionally. I love you, and you will always have your own special place in my heart.
Happy Fathers Day, Dads!

WELL HELLO AGAIN
I have been gone far too long, and this poor old blog needs quite the update. But before that happens, let me give you a quick run down as to what I've been up to:
- January 23rd, 2008 - Had the most incredible life experience meeting my new son, and it's been a blast ever since.
- August 2009: Bought a house.
- Some time after: Went to Dental school. Left Dental School to go to Real Estate School. Finished Real Estate School but didn't get my license because I realized it just wasn't for me. (Don't worry, it gets better)
- January 2013 - Bought a Canon Rebel for $300, and started a Photography business. 2 months later, I quit my job to pursue a freelance graphic design business.
- June 12th, 2013: Never been happier.
Soo, that's the past few years in a nutshell. Of course, a whole lot has happened in between, but those are some very important milestones. It's nice to finally do what I've always looonged to do, and I whole heartledly believe this is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
As far as this blog, it will now serve as a place to share tidbits about myself, things that I love and that inspire me, and some of the (crazy) ideas I have for the future.. as you will see. Hope to see you back here soon..
